Gender Affirming Placebo Effect and Non Consensual "Care" foretold by 13th Century Sufi Poet
Sufi poet and storyteller Rumi foretells of gender affirming celebration via his story, "The Donkeys Gone".
The Rumi story “The Donkeys Gone” tells of a traveler whose only possession is his trusty donkey. Along his travels he stays at an inn where a celebration is taking place. The celebration participants invite the traveler to join in the festivities. The traveler enjoys food, wine, song and dancing at the celebration where they also chant musically, "The donkeys gone, the donkeys gone!". The traveler doesn't understand the meaning of this, but since they were all having such fun, the traveler joined in as well and began to chant along with the others, "The donkeys gone, the donkeys gone!" In the morning the traveler sought to continue his journey. He went to the inn's stable to retrieve his donkey. But the stable keeper told him his donkey had been sold and slaughtered. The traveler was shocked and devastated. How this could have occured, he asked? The stable keeper replied that on the previous night, men from the celebration brought a message purportedly from the traveler instructing the stable keeper to sell the donkey to pay for more wine and food for the party. When the stable keeper went to find the traveler to verify this instruction, the stable keeper observed the traveler at the celebration chanting, "The donkeys gone, the donkeys gone!". So, the stable keeper assumed this instruction was correct and verified.
This traveler was cheated out of his only possession, his trusty donkey, in the same way as many kids are being cheated of their right to experience puberty and life long physical, mental and sexual health.
In this analogy the traveler represents children who are agree to gender affirming care, without knowing the severe life long implications of their action. Puberty blockers followed by hormones result in permanent loss of sexual function. They also cause many other health problems. These losses result in substantial reduction of quality of life by permanently reducing overall physical health, mental health, ability to engage in romantic relationships, self esteem and the ability to have children of their own. Many of these quality of life reductions and health harms are permanent . Kids cant consent to permanent substantial reductions of quality of life as adults becuase they are unable to know the life experience of an adult or understand their future adult self.
The stable keeper represents teachers, parents, courts and medical providers who accept misinformed consent to affirming care and assist in a fraudulent transaction that harms kids, robbing them of their right to experience puberty and setting them toward a life of severe mental and physical problems caused by gender affirming "care".
The men from the celebration who fraudulently sold the travelers donkey without his knowledge represent medical groups and activists who fraudulently claim gender affirming "care" helps kids with gender dysphoria. UK, Sweden and Finland reviews found gender "care" does more harm than good. They found puberty blockers and hormones dont improve youth gender dysphoria, mental health, social function or anything. Amsterdam reports persons who take gender meds long term have a double the odds an early death. They also found persons who take these meds long term have sky high suicide rates. The "care" doesnt work. Yet, these charlatan medical groups and activists are getting rich and furthering their agenda by claiming it does. Most kids grow out of gender dysphoria without meds. But even if they dont, the meds make matters worse. To the extent that the "care" helps at all is due to the placebo effect of the perceived celebratory aspects of the gender affirming community. This placebo effect diminishes over time. Many of the stats used to justify gender affirming care measure results only within 3 to 12 months, the length of time where the placebo effect is likely to be greatest. Most of these stats and studies are low quality or very low quality, as per the GRADE evidence ratings; further indication of the dishonest nature of the medical groups and activists who promote youth gender affirming care.

Excellent article 👏. I liked the analogy followed by real facts and supported statistics.
